As you can see in the above table, the situation in
Somalia has been generally peaceful, even though clan wars between people in
the lower shabelle region was reported by Hiiraan.com, but otherwise the situation
was calm. We are also noting clan wars in northeastern party of Kenya and even
other parts of Kenya. These wars are better explained by resource competition
and week governments that are unable to ensure the supremacy of the law. Armed clansmen
then take the law into their hands.
Good news was also reported today regarding of arrests of
army officers linked to lax in security in key government installations in Mogadishu.
Moreover, roads that have been closed for years have been re-opened after they
have been repaired in the main Bakara market in Mogadishu, Somalia.
