Members of the African Union Mission in Somalia and Somalia's National army have today taken Warsheekh, a coastal district in Middle Shabelle region, along Indian Ocean. A nearby district, Adale, was also left by Shebab, creating vacuum to be filled soon. Shebab appears to be disintegrating, conventionally at least now, having faced numerous fronts while they lack a popular support.

Shebab wants to take public matters and place them in the hands of few. They are essentially anti-Shura.

 

The current government in Somalia ought to bolster its Shuratic credentials by progressively involving people in public matters.

 

Start from Banadir region, re-create the municipal council representing all the people that live in the city. Let them choose a leader. End appointing a leader for the region.

 

New state was created recently around Mogadishu comprising the two Shabelle regions. Parts of Galgaduud region may be combined with this new state, such as Ceeldheer and Galcad, if the people in these regions desire. After all we are guided by what people choose.

Kahda district is said to have been rejected by the new governor of Banadir, its district status. some reports say the governor have refused the name, Kah Shiikhaaleed, the Kah of Shiikaal, carrying the name of a clan, not the district. The governor ought to welcome this new district, not refuse to join the wider Banadir region.
